The festival begins at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10th at the historic Center Hall Complex in Arthurdale, West Virginia. It features artisan demonstrators, craft market, an antique car, truck, and tractor show, 5k race, museum and guided driving tours of Arthurdale, barbecued chicken dinners, traditional music, and much more.

Guests also have the opportunity to take a guided, driving tour of Arthurdale with Eleanor Roosevelt, portrayed by living history actor Patty Cooper, in an antique car. The festival also features a 5k race, walk, and fun-run, numerous activities just for kids, and hay rides.

The antique car, truck, and tractor show is back at the New Deal Festival. Guests can check under the hood of some of Detroit’s finest machines from the 1920s all the way to hot-rods from the 1960s and ‘70s. The show, hosted by the Arthurdale Tire Kickers Car Club, also features antique tractors, including one manufactured at the Arthurdale Co-Op Tractor Factory.

Guests can also check out live music on the main stage representing a wide range of music genres from bluegrass and traditonal Appalachian music to jazz, blues, and even some Dixieland. Performing this year are The Dan Baker Trio, The Halftime String Band, Born Old, Tupelo Honey, and The Falling Run Bluegrass Band.

Another popular event making a return is Tea with Eleanor. This formal tea is held in the historic Arthurdale Inn on Friday, July 9th. Guests can chat with Eleanor Roosevelt, portrayed by living history actor, Patty Cooper in an intimate and historic setting. Tea with Eleanor requires an advance ticket that’s available through the New Deal Festival website.
